This value is a setting used on a stringing machine, and is a guide for racket stringers. It is of very little use to a player who needs to know the tension of the strings in their racket.

This is a fairly simple test and can show you the tension of your strings. You insert two pins between the strings and twist. The result is you can see the approximate tension of the strings.

The main advantage is the low cost which makes it suitable for many players.

Tensometer

This measures the string tension electronically and is very accurate. You can see the tension of the strings displayed. It very simple to use as the test takes only a few seconds.

These devices are more expensive so they will probably only be used by a limited number of players.
