String Group: Competition Select this group if you want the best possible performance from your racket. Most strings in this category are a thinner gauge to provide the best performance. |
Performance notes | This type of string will only be selected by a small number of players, who want more response than is provided by the performance range of strings. They often contain hundreds of individual strands to provide the required performance. |
Durability notes | A player who selects a competition string is mainly interested in performance. If you need good performance combined with durability, the performance group of strings are probably more suitable. |
Gauge notes | Most strings in the competition group will be a thin gauge to give you the best performance. You should try 1.21 to 1.25 for performance, or 1.26 to 1.30 for better durability. |
Price notes | A player who selects this type of string is usually more interested in the performance than the cost. They would not normally break strings frequently which should make the annual cost reasonable. |
