Racket Balance

There is a point along the length of a racket where it will balance. This shows you how the weight is distributed along the length of a racket. A lighter racket normally has more weight in the head, and a heavier racket often has an even balance.

You can test this on a finger of your hand or the edge of a table. You balance the racket horizontally and measure this point from the end of the handle.

The reading is probably difficult to remember. It is much easier to express the balance as a percentage of the length of a racket. The result could be a balance of 50% and you know the Balance Point is halfway along the length of the racket.
