Racket-Ball Balance

There is a point along the length of a racket where it will balance. You can test this on a finger of your hand or the edge of a table. You balance the racket horizontally and measure this point from the end of the handle.

The balance is often described as Head-Heavy or Head-Light. This does not help you to compare different rackets. An alternative method is to use a percentage value. This is the balance point compared to the total length of the racket. A value of 50% would indicate that the balance is halfway along the length of the racket.
